We are a local collective that is based in Nara.

 

We realized that several tour companies are coming to Nara reciting information from the Internet and guidebooks. We want you to discover Nara through the eyes of professionals and actual residents of Nara City.

 

We are a collective group of foreigners and bilingual Japanese affiliated with

Space Department-Nara which is a local Artist-in-Residence whose aim is to rediscover the history and culture of Nara to inspire artists and their work. We are artists, architects, professionals, and students of history, culture, and arts.

There is a reason why Nara is called the `cradle of Japanese culture`. We aim to share with you what we know and what inspires us about this magical place in the center of Japan Nowhere in Japan is truly as unique as Nara.
