World Heritage Primeval Forest
Hiking Tour minimum 6Hrs
Did you know that almost 70% of Japan's land area is covered in forests? However, only 2% of that forest is original native forest. The Kasuga Primeval forest is a unique and special place that has remained untouched since the dawn of Japan. This area is considered sacred, and logging has been banned there since the 8th century. If you're interested in experiencing what it was like to live in harmony with nature in ancient times, then visiting this forest is a must.
But, please note that the hike through the Kasuga Primeval forest is a minimum 6-hour hike and requires a good level of fitness. So, it's essential to bring plenty of water and wear appropriate hiking shoes. Also, it's important to keep in mind that this hike is only bookable with a local guide who can walk you through the forest safely.
